About the weekend

If you wish to practice the pieces a few times before the weekend (advised) they are available on the Lathkill Music Publications website now in a PDF format which includes both musical notation and Tablature, but will be sent out to students one month before the event free of charge.
The Academy provides personal tuition by its RGT-Registered Academy Tutors such as Garry Burnett and Masterclasses by Gordon himself in a relaxed and friendly environment. The programme offers a performance-based approach to developing guitarists playing skills and repertoire, learning to play and perform the music of Gordon Giltrap.
We now have David Mead on board as our special guest for Sunday. Many will know David as Deputy Editor on Guitarist magazine, also the author of the biography of Jazz guitarist Martin Taylor. David is a very fine guitarist and teacher, he has written numerous guitar and teaching related books.
During his time as Editor on Guitarist, and Guitar Techniques magazine he interviewed pretty much every major guitar legend on the planet.
It gives us great pleasure to welcome him on Sunday the 9th to share his history and music with us.
I'm delighted to have that superb builder of bespoke electric guitars Michael Gough  of MG-Guitarsoffering his service free of charge to all attendees of my Academy weekend who wish to have their instruments looked over by an expert and "tweaked" to make their beloved guitars play even better.

Check out Michael's website MG-Guitars
You probably need at least 2 years playing experience and to already be familiar with Gordon’s music to gain maximum benefit from this weekend.

Booking Information
The fee for the course is £250 and includes tablature of pieces to be studied and teas/ coffees during the day Sat / Sun while at the Arts Centre.

(For some reason I had mistakenly quoted a figure of £350. This was in all honesty due to a rather muddled brain which I put down to my recent spell in hospital. The fee will be as before, £250.....Gordon)
A table will be reserved for the group at The Old Hall Hotel each evening, and we would ask each person let us know which evening meals they would like to join and to cover the cost of their meal.
For further information and payment details to secure a place, or to be first to hear about future event please e-mail Sue Holton at info@giltrapacademy.org.uk
